In July 2007, I moved to Washington, D.C. from Meadville, Pa. I enrolled in American University’s School of Communication to pursue my master’s degree in Print Journalism.
Since I’ve been in the District, I have continued to be surprised by everything the city offers: history, culture, and no shortage of people who have led impressive, amazing lives. I’ve met the editors of USA Today, and covered press conferences with Joe Lieberman, Dennis Kucinich and Hillary Clinton, and spent time on Capitol Hill. I attended a anti-war demonstration and March on Washington led by Iraq War veterans and people from all walks of life. I completed a research project for which all my research was conducted at the Library of Congress. In D.C., I feel like I’m in the heart of it all, and the city never ceases to amaze me.
This blog is my D.C. diary — chronicling some of the more exciting experiences that I have here, some of the amazing places I get to visit, and some of the interesting people I get to meet.
I love D.C.!
